Going Photo Crazy at Greenland Garden Centre

Hello everyone, yesterday I spent several hours at Greenland Garden Centre just outside of Edmonton. Actually, I was also there the day before, with a friend and her Grandson. The display they had there was just beautiful, so I just had to go back there before they dismantled it. Greenland is open all year round and have a great coffee bar for those that just want to come and relax and take in their beautiful flowers and displays. They sell all kinds of things from riding boots to costume jewelry, to all kinds of nik naks for the home and the garden. One has to visit Greenland to see all the things they have, it is just wonderful to see. If I was wealthy I would have spent thousands but unfortunately I am not. The plants they sell are the best I have seen. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They also have courses for anyone that wants to further their knowledge of Gardening and Horticulture.  I also had a great coffee and chocolate cone that was yummy and went down too quickly. All in all it was a great day. I took tons of photos and I spent several hours working with my photos. I hope they like my review of the centre. If you live in or around Edmonton, Alberta do go visit Greenland Garden Centre before they take the display down, before April 10, you won’t regret it. Now, to show you some photos of my day.

The Amaryllis Opening

Today I have another blog to do with my Amaryllis. I took photos over the last week as my Amaryllis was opening, basically to show you how it slowly opens up. Once it is fully opens I will have a final Image for you. It is always fun to see such a showy  flower opening and so sad to see it finally fade when it is finished blooming, but that won’t be for another 2 weeks. Here is the series of photos that I took for all of you to see. I hope you all will enjoy the photos.

More Amaryllis photos

By now your are probably getting sick of seeing Amaryllis photos, but I don’t have to much else right now, to talk about. These Amaryllis are so nice to see, with the cold outside right now. It is sunny today but it is also –16C, so it is very nice to have a plant the is ready to flower. Well here are some photos for those that are interested.

My Amaryllis and Clone Babies

Hello everyone, I thought I would have a blog today about my Amaryllis plants. Summer Breeze from the UK asked about the Amaryllis plants and how to work with them. She has been given 2 Amaryllis (one white, one red), and as she has never had one before, needed some advice. The Amaryllis plant is a very easy plant to work with and the reward is a beautiful bounty of wonderful flowers, one to two pods of flowers, with 4 to 5 flowers per pod. And they are very awesome to see. My White Amaryllis is giving me 2 pods and at least one of its clone babies is sending out a flower pod. This fall I will have to separate the clone babies from the mother. It will also give me a chance to repot the momma plant. I will take out all of my Amaryllis into the garden so they can soak up all of the sun that they can before they go dormant for a couple of months. I will then take them out into the light before Christmas. Here is a couple of photos of my Amaryllis.
