Hello everyone, I have at long last taken a few photos of my White Amaryllis. I have tried for a while to take the photos, but I have friends and relatives that have wanted some of my time, ah lets face it, I procrastinated, I finally got the photos done before to many of the blooms withered away. Two stalks of the blooms I could not use because of withering. I had to put the flowers in a large vase that I have and guess what, the vase is white. The photos still look quite good so I will show you right now. It took me the whole day to set up for a few photos. I am feeling my hip right now, I need to eat and take some meds. Take care and I hope you like the Photos.

My visit to Greenland Garden Center
Hello every one, I went to Greenland Garden Center here in Edmonton Alberta Canada. On the 3rd of February the garden center had a grand opening of their Garden Display for the winter of 2013. I got to the center and what did I see but the center cat in the middle of the driveway. It was in my way to get to the parking spot. This little guy would not move, she new that she owned the place, so she made me go around her. So I did get around the cat and parked. As I got out got my camera and was getting near the door, the cat decided it wanted to go back into the greenhouse, as soon as the cat got to the door someone opened it, I thought how good can life get for this cat. Well as soon as I got to the door the cat was no where to be seen. So I went in and headed to the Coffee bar and had Apple strudel and a nice large coffee, sat down and enjoyed it very much. I looked around and took my coat off got myself comfortable and enjoyed the display.
I took a few photos so I could show you this panorama so I can give you an idea of what I was looking at. It was beautiful to just sit there and relax have a coffee and some apple strudel and enjoy the green and the fish. Some of the fish where about the size just right for the frying pan. Oh well, just dreaming. So when I finished my coffee I started taking some photos.
Well this was my visit to the Garden Center today. I was there for a couple of hours or so, the light was getting a little darker outside so I decided to go before it got to dark. I hope you enjoyed my visit as much as I did. I’m going back in about a month to see how it has changed (got greener) and take a few more photos.

Red Red Amaryllis
Hello everyone, well a few weeks ago I promised I would show you the blooms of the amaryllis that was about to bloom. This Amaryllis is a beautiful Red, it has 4 blossoms that are just beautiful. There is just one that has not opened yet, and I will photograph the flower again when it is completely open. I wonder if I will have any more Amaryllis blooming, Hark I have 7 more White Amaryllis shooting up flower pods, this will be something when they start to open. Maybe I can get Darlin to help me photograph them when they are ready. Oh Darlin, will you help me with these photos when they are ready? Let me know, Ok. Well here are some Amaryllis flowers I took photos of in the last 4 days.
I hope you like the photos.

News today and a photo for those that requested more photos
Hello every one. Well, I have some good news for me, I will be getting surgery on my right hip (full hip replacement). For those of you that didn’t know I have Arthritis in my hips, I had the left hip fixed already and now am getting the right hip done. Hopefully when this hip is done I will be able to walk normally without pain in about a year or so. I will have to do lots of exercise and walking to get my muscles stronger after the surgery. So I was told that I was scheduled for April or May and that if there is a cancelation it could be as soon as next week. So first I have to go and get my teeth cleaned and then I am ready to get the surgery. I am so happy that I don’t have to wait another 20 months for this hip surgery. I gather from the doctors response that this hip is totally worn out. Well enough of the hip talk, here is a photo that I took a while ago, either last summer or 2 summers ago. I love sunflowers and enjoyed taking a photo of the flower and the playing with the image in Photoshop CS3. I may even put up a couple of photo so here goes.
These Sunflower images were taken last summer in July.

My Amaryllis just before Christmas
Hello everyone, I took a few photos over the last few days and then played with some of the photos. This is the sort of thing that I enjoy very much. Some people may think that to just display what comes out of the camera is the only way that photos should be displayed, well since I was a professional photographer I would not be happy if that were the only way one could display any photos. To me the creativity would just be killed. Some folks do a great job taking photos with out any manipulation. Before digital photos were manipulated all the time in the darkroom, well Photoshop is now the digital darkroom. Here are a few of my photos. I hope you enjoy them. This is also one of my seedling Amaryllis by the way.
The next photo is right out of the camera.
This is a nice photo but it lacks some pizzas.

Not much going on
Hello everyone, not much going on these days, except my friend Russ and his fiancĂ©, took me out too a wonderful show here in Edmonton, that is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. This was a stag production that was called “The Singing Christmas Tree”. The proceeds to this show go’s to charity, mainly to the Food Bank and Santa’s Anonymous. Santa’s Anonymous gives gifts to needy children, and we all know about the food Bank. Well, the show was totally awesome. The music and singing was world class, I thing the whole show was world class. The Singing Christmas Tree is only on for 3 days every year. The show was at the Jubilee Auditorium here in Edmonton, which is also a world class concert hall. If Russ is watching or listening, I really want to thank you for taking me along. It was a wonderful evening.
Well, as the title says not much going on in my life right now, I am in a fair amount of pain and doing as little as possible so that I am not totally overcome with pain. I have another Amaryllis that is going to bloom in a week or two. I will post a few picture when the time comes, so that you all don’t feel that I have abandoned you.

Good and bad mews today
Well here is the good news, my first seedling baby to set a flower of all the seedling babies that I have. It was doing so well and showing so much promise. At First It looked like it was going to be pink then as it started to unfurl it looked like it was going to be stripped.
Oh and then it started to open it was beautiful and the color was Salmon on the inside, you can’t judge the color from outside of the petals, no stripes on this one. So Salmon it is and in different light it almost looks orange. I was going to take some photos of the flower this morning when the unthinkable happened, the flower was almost fully open and I walked into the room and the flower stem was gone. I thought someone has stolen the flower when I was sleeping. I rubbed my eyes and took a closer look and saw that the flower and stem was hanging on a few threads, it brock clean off from the bulb. OMG what am I going to do now? well I thought for a moment and searched around in the kitchen for a glass. I cut the stem off so that the glass wouldn’t fall over then I started taking some photos after I had some breakfast so that I don’t fall over with low sugar since I injected insulin first thing before I saw the flower. Well I took some photos and they turned out quite nice. Here are a few more photos.
So there you have it my Seed baby’s first flower.
