News today and a photo for those that requested more photos

Hello every one. Well, I have some good news for me, I will be getting surgery on my right hip (full hip replacement). For those of you that didn’t know I have Arthritis in my hips, I had the left hip fixed already and now am getting the right hip done. Hopefully when this hip is done I will be able to walk normally without pain in about a year or so. I will have to do lots of exercise and walking to get my muscles stronger after the surgery. So I was told that I was scheduled for April or May and that if there is a cancelation it could be as soon as next week. So first I have to go and get my teeth cleaned and then I am ready to  get the surgery. I am so happy that I don’t have to wait another 20 months for this hip surgery. I gather from the doctors response that this hip is totally worn out. Well enough of the hip talk, here is a photo that I took a while ago, either last summer or 2 summers ago. I love sunflowers and enjoyed taking a photo of the flower and the playing with the image in Photoshop CS3. I may even put up a couple of photo so here goes.

  3. I hope for your sake that the surgery will take place soon and that you will find yourold mobility returned. Surely, it won’t take as much as a year?

Very nicely edited photos of the sunflowers.

    1. Hi Friko, I will be fairly mobile in about 3 months but I am not a young man anymore, and who knows for sure. I hope to loose some weight in the near future and that will help in my recuperation and speed in my recuperation. I do know for sure that my left hip took almost a year before I could walk normally, then my right hip started to deteriorate. Thanks for the compliment.

  10. Sorry I hit publish with out reading the comment first!!

Glad that you are going to get the second hip done. We had a friend who is 70 to dinner last night, he had his hip done 2 weeks ago. Apart from still using one crutch as a precaution he is doing remarkably well. I like the second picture best! Keep well Diane

    1. Thanks Diane, they will put me in a rehab center for a week after I get out of the hospital because I have no one at home to help me. That's what they did last time.

  20. Fantastic news Horst, I'm so happy for you that you're going to get this surgery sooner rather than later! Keep me posted k? It's been so blasted cold I try not to leave home unless I have to and I try to ensure I don't have to! lol Tomorrow though it's supposed to be turning around and warming up!

I absolutely love the second photo, beautiful color. I also like the first one, but seeing brilliant yellow is so beautiful this time of year!

    Cheers.

  22. It's good you didn't wait to have the surgery. You must still be recovering as this is only February. How are you doing? I know you stopped by BIW lately and have seemed kind of quiet. I need to get both of my knees done very soon, I've been procrastinating. My doctor is a comedian. He said; "You could have both knees done at once." I asked him how hard it would be on me. He replied; " You won't have a leg to stand on." (Really Horst!) Well, thanks for the views tonight and have a nice weekend. I'm going to read my book now.

  23. Horst I love your sunflowers. I will have to try some stuff with the many photos I have. Thank you for coming by on my return from being gone for almost 3 months. The pace here at the ranch is much quieter. We have still been getting snow which I like as I am not ready to start working in the garden. I worked so hard landscaping the last month before we left I need a break from it.
