Windrow of Snow

I thought I would show you the windrow of snow that the graders have piled up (for the 3rd time) in the middle of the road. There is a five foot medium between the two roads. There are trees planted in the medium to make the street look nice in the summer. These poor trees have to tolerate the snow that is being pushed up against them and then removed. I shot this photo this morning through my bedroom window, unfortunately this window is screened, but you can still see everything quite well. Here is the photo.

    Windrows

All that pushed up snow only leaves one and a half lanes for driving. Hope they take it away soon.

  1. Certainly seems better organised than this country Horst. A couple of inches of snow causes havoc here. It's pathetic really.

  3. Hi Toodie, so far the graders have not taken out any trees that I know of, I'm glad you feel ok. We may not like the amount of snow that we have been getting but it is good for the farmers, we have had a drought here for a long time. Like Beth said on the last blog, we humans do like to complain.

  5. The trees will be fine ... it's the salt that harms them ... man is the real enemy for nature ... don't you think? ...

  6. The poor trees are barely visible with all the snow piled around them. I hope this mess goes away for you soon Horst.

  7. The city is cleaning up residential streets right now, when that's done, they will take away all the snow on the medium. Here in Edmonton the weather usually warms up towards the end of April.

  8. Yes, Cat, the trees should be ok, as long as the graders don't cut them off or break them. I agree with you Cat,about man.

  9. I do not envy the trees! But then again you wanna see what our snow does to our roads when it finally goes...they don't remove it here...they leave it to the car tyres...

  10. Hi Wolfie, they do that here in the residential areas, but this year we have had so much snow the city has to remove it because the Emergency vehicles are getting stuck (Fire trucks and Ambulances).
