More Garden photos

I took some more photos of my flowers and even my tomato plant today. I had 3 more strawberries and were they ever good. I have to keep and eye out everyday for those ripening strawberries, don’t want them to go bad now. Not to much to say these days, but I am very glad that my followers have not abandoned me. Here are some photos from my garden.

    1. I didn't realize that I bought cherry tomato's until I saw them start to grow, but that's OK. I will just enjoy them as the start to ripen. My other tomato plant is a big verity. One is starting to ripen.

    1. I sure am thrilled, Sheila. This is the first time in a long time that I had so many different flowers and strawberries in my little garden. I had to buy some extra big pots so they would do well.

  6. The sunflower grew as a result of my bird feeders, and I did not have the will to pull it out. I am glad now that I didn't.

  7. Wonderful shots Horst, do you get many birds around to your feeders?

  8. Hey Scott, I get mostly Sparrows, but I also get Chick a dee's, House Finch, and Nuthatch, Chipping Sparrow. In the fall I may get a few more types of birds as they migrate south. I live in a Condo complex so there are lots of people around, specially children to scare the more timid birds away.

And thank you for explaining how you scare the birds away!!

    1. Most of my flowers are in pots. I just feed them and water when needed. Lately I haven't needed to water, nature is doing it for me.

  11. Your tomato plants look as they should look which is full of lovely fruit. Ours are still at the flower stage so are ages off fruiting. And that sunflower was gorgeous, full of life energy.

    1. Hi Vera, maybe you don't have many bees around to make those flowers bear fruit. I water my tomato's at least once a day and give them fertilizer once a week. I'm sure you do the same. I do think your summer is much longer that ours. We have only about a month and a half left of summer here in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Then the days get shorter and colder and frost at night. Hope you have lots of tomato's for the the Autumn.

    2. Gosh, I only water now and again, when I have the time! No wonder your tomatoes are looking so super duper. Although the days get shorter, there are still sufficient sunny hours left to give a long growing season. But each year is a learning curve in regards to running a smallholding, so next year I shall try to pay more attention to my veggies, especially the tomatoes!

  14. Horst, I think you have a rogue virus or similar running a muck with your blog. My first click to leave a comment sent me to a different site (redirected). Have you installed or added anything to your blog recently?

    Anyhow, love your garden photos!

  19. Lovely photos from your garden Horst :) I love your sunflower, I haven't seen any round here yet, I think the lack of sun may have something to do with that!

  20. Lovely photos, Horst, and that Sunflower, WOW, a real beauty, aren't the tomatoes supposed to be green LOL How can you get some wonderful produce from your garden and I've produced zilch this year, after having such a cold spring everything just halted, oh well there's always next year. keep well and keep on snapping.

  21. Thanks Poppy and Arlene. I guess we are lucky this year. Last year I didn't have much luck either with the Plants. The spring was to cold and long, and the summer was not warm enough.

  23. Horst your flowers are beautiful, the strawberries look so delicious my tastebuds are watering, and the cherry tomoatoes, that's unreal how many there are on the one branch. The nice thing about all the rain we've been getting is we don't have to water much and it looks as though your plants are getting just enough. Very nice photos.

  24. Hi Darlin, I have to water the Tomato's no mater if we had rain the night before, and they sure are tasty.

  25. I got some tomatoes this year but not enough. I think the 100+ days did them in some. The raccoons are eating them too. :-(((

  26. My Tomato's are starting to ripen now. Must pick then so that they don't get to ripe. Carole, I heard that one must keep the Tomato's watered so they don't get Blossom end rot. I have had a few that had that problem.
