Well, today was a beautiful day, here in Edmonton. I couldn’t believe that it was melting out there, after a week of minus –30C daytime high. I was out and about getting some produce for the fridge. Helped a friend with a lift to his new (for him) truck. That got me thinking of Spring. So I figured I would post an image that would remind us that Spring is not that far away. Well here it is, enjoy.
Now I’m not sure if you would like this one so I think I will add another photo, that is similar to this one.
Lovely family group in the first Horst.
ReplyDeleteAlways such a pleasure to visit your blog, my friend ... Blessed be. Love always, cat.

Sheila :)
These are truly beautiful reminders of spring Horst.
ReplyDeleteIt cannot come too soon!
Sending you wishes for a wonderful afternoon.
Both are equally beautiful Horst!
ReplyDeleteHello Horst, I love very much the header of your blog. It is striking and beautiful
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so lovely and so beautiful. They carry love and warmth. I love these little babies, they are not yet beautiful but they are very precious.
Great art!!!!
Wow, it's melting there now? That's awesome, so much for the worst winter in a long time as was predicted! Very nice photos! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Darlin, so far so good with the weather. Have fun in Australia.
DeleteWhat super pictures Horst, the second one is a gem, and I do like the header of the blue tit, very well edited.
ReplyDeleteBy the way your temperature is climbing up it will be spring before you know it, Thanks for your visits and comments. X
Hi Arlene, The header is of a Chickadee, similar to a Blue Tit but no blue. It's true name is a Black Capped Chickadee.
DeleteBeautiful pictures :)
ReplyDeleteLike them both!! So beautiful and artistic! You had some really cold days...here it should be very cold next week, but soon enough spring arrives :))
ReplyDeleteSo far we have had only about 8 days of very cold weather, not usual to the Edmonton area. Can't wait for spring, it will be here sooner than we think.
DeleteI love your pics, but love reading your words.
ReplyDeleteNice photos of the birds and nice touch in processing Horst ! Hope you will find The Spring soon !
ReplyDeleteHorst, what wonderful family photos, and a great reminder of spring.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and I love both families.
ReplyDeleteMy wrist is alomst 98% back to normal range of movement. Downward motion is the hardest. Then oblique angles (wrist movement I mean) are a bit hard to do still. Knees are 80% better..they may never be the same again as they were grieviously injured and they've had bed injuies before. :-( But I'm getting along and I'm working out. xox
Hi Carole, I am starting to ride my stationary bike now, twice a day. The dietitian at the Hip and knee clinic is giving me pointers on how to eat proper foods, and I have to write down everything I eat and drink. It is a pain in the backside but that's what I have to do to remind myself on what's good and what's not. I hope that maybe in the future I will be a little lighter on my feet. Who knows maybe I will be able to dance again.
DeleteI have revisited these photo-pics several times, and decided that I like the three little ducklings best. They look so cute and interested in life. I know I say this time and time again, Horst, but I really love what you do to the photos. Hope you are getting better and that your mobility is coming back.
ReplyDeleteHi Vera, I plan to take a lot of photos this year, and I plan to ride my mountain bike to areas that have much interest for me. I will put my camera in my back pack and hit the road.
DeleteThank you for visiting with me again:) And once again I must say .. You have wonderful pictures to your blog:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Mimmi.
Deletehave a good weekend... hugs
ReplyDeleteThank you :) b.t.v I love your header :)
ReplyDeleteApologies for being a bit late viewing these wonderful images Horst... they are fantastic to see.
ReplyDeleteHi Horst, First of all, I hope to find you well and recovering nicely from your surgery, and hopefully fit as a fiddle by the time Spring is upon us once again.:)
ReplyDeleteAs far as the pictures, they are both a work of Art. You do so well with the processing of your Beautiful photos. As you know, I love the Canada Geese and never get tired of them.
Thank you for your resent visit to my blog and your kind comment. It is amazing what you see at the Zoo. I would never be able to travel to the Countries where all these Beautiful and Diverse animals inhabit and so I am glad I only live a couple hours from the Toronto Zoo. I try to go at least once a year.
I have never been to the ocean and I can't swim but hopefully on day I will see it for myself.
Well you take care Horst and it sounds like you are doing all the right things on your way to recovery from your surgery. Stay determined and keep up the good work.
Dianne :)
Little darlings. I do look forward to seeing them.
ReplyDeleteHey Tammy,They are little darlings, here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, they love to stay in our parks, that have a lake, or ponds in them. They stay and have their babies here. In the summer they get fed bread and they just love it. So they are fairly tame. They have lots of grass to eat so they have hardly any dye off (no predators). They may see the odd Fox or Coyote, otherwise no worries.
DeleteHope it is not me doing something wrong and miss the new pictures from you, but you may not have put up some new yet;)
ReplyDeleteNo Mimmi, you have done anything wrong. I have been lazy. Will have to get off my butt and do something soon. The weather here is fairly warm, +3c, but everything is slushy and dull. I will have to go and get some photos at the local garden center to get me more motivated. Have a great day Mimmi.
DeleteBeautiful images, love them!
ReplyDeleteMette
Hello Horst; I am your latest follower, found you via comment form/rambles with a camera/Andrew. Loving your header image and will have to take time looking over your posts now. Really like the effect added to the header/bird in flight - is it a texture layer perhaps?
ReplyDeleteHello Carole M, yes it's a texture I use with Adobe CS3. Nice to see you aboard.
DeleteHi Horst, I love both the photos, and how you have edited them :) It has been very cold and snowy here this week - roll on Spring :)
