Today I cleaned a little more of the dead stuff out of the garden, I am so happy that I do a few things in the garden without to much pain. I clean some of the garden last week as well, I still have a lot to do as I could not do much last year as I had a Hip replacement last August 29th. I have noticed that I may need to have my right Hip replaced a year or 2 from now, it lets me know that it too is getting bad. Back to the garden, I noticed a lot more things peeking it’s nose out to see if it is ok to sprout. The weather was very nice again for the last 3 days. It is supposed to rain/snow again tonight and most of the weekend, let’s hope for rain, we don’t need any more cold weather. I still have about half of my garden to clean, lets hope I can do this next week. Here are a few photos of the plants that show some life.
Some of my Hens & Chicks did not make it this year because of the lack of snow this winter.
You have all kinds of stuff coming up. Looks great. I don't have much coming up in Red Deer.
ReplyDeleteHi Red, my little garden faces south so it is getting a lot of sun and white fences all around. The tallest Tulips are close to the house and are a lot warmer. It gets very hot in my garden in the summer.
DeleteMy hen and chickens that I brought from home did not do as well as usual because of the lack of snow covering them.
ReplyDeleteYou have made a good start on your garden. Go at a pace that you can tolerate.
Stopped by to say Hi again, my friend ... Spring is finally in the air, eh? Love, cat.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that its starting to grow! We have a lot of snow left in the garden, but today I saw some narcisses who have start to show up :) Lovely springtime! I hope you dont get any more snow...but I am certain that we do, because it is really to early for spring jet...Have a nice sunday :)
ReplyDeleteI planted last autumn tulips and they grew nicely while the dears came from mountains and ate them. That was so frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI like how these little plants showing slowly. Spring is already arrived to your country. I am sure it will be a nice garden.
Glad to hear you can play in your garden. So sorry to hear your other hip is giving you pain. Your photos show signs of life up there.
ReplyDeleteHi Horst
ReplyDeleteSpring is finally coming....you did a good job.
Greetings, Joop
It's satisfying when things start to reappear isn't it - those tulips look promising.
ReplyDeleteHi Horst I have been doing a lot of clearing and hey presto the same here, new life springing out everywhere. Hope the weather doesn't change too drastic for you and those little blooms. The Tulips are looking good wonder what colour.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your coming week, Sheila
Wonderful images Horst...
ReplyDeleteSpring has arrived here also but weather warnings say winter is heading back.
Well folks the snow has come back, thank goodness it is not that cold.
DeleteGlad you have been able to get out into your garden without much pain. Spring is springing here in Blacksburg Virginia!
ReplyDeleteOur spring is almost full-on now. How do I know this? Because an hour after I have mown the grass it doesn't look like it has been cut at all such is the rate of growth. It is a lovely time of the year, and I hope you manage to get the rest of your garden sorted out. I also hope that your other hip stays well for you. And I think those photos express the urgent need for things to start coming up through the earth. Well done you!
ReplyDeleteHi Hans-- it's so nice to see those hopeful signs of spring in your yard. Ours has come too fast this year, so enjoy every little minute of it.
ReplyDeleteHi Connie, actually my name is Horst. Thanks Connie I do appreciate that we are getting needed moisture even though it is snow.
DeleteHappy April Horst. It is nice to see new growth as things spout up and about. Glad to see you back working in your garden. What a difference a year makes. Take care and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteDianne :)
Thanks Dianne.
DeletePity the snow returned, but then again we do need the moisture sorely. Take it easy with your hip recovery, better to go slow than to strain it. Enjoy the gardening!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that spring has begun to come to you too :)
ReplyDeleteit is always wonderful to see the new spring buds and shoots.
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to be able to get out into the garden again but take it easy with your hip and give yourself the best chance for a full recovery.
Have a wonderful week, and thanks for stopping by my blog.
Hello Horst, were supposed to be at +16 today in Calgary, a good day to play in the garden. Snow for Wed night again!
ReplyDeleteStrange I have not seen a spec of green anywhere yet. I'm sure after a big spring snow dump or rain everything will come to life!
Take it easy on that hip.
Cheers.
Good for you :) My garden is in dire need of attention, but I just haven't been able to find the time. It is early yet...even though the weather makes it seem otherwise.
ReplyDeleteMe..I MUST get out there and clean out the weeds and that's gonna be a booger!
ReplyDeleteOh well, Carole, it is a job that has to be done sooner or later..
DeleteHorst, I love your new Banner, its beautiful like a painting! very nice photo. Oh & the problem with my photos not being sharp is Blogger resizes my photos causing a slight pixel distortion. I've already gone into the HTML settings & resized but Blogger refuses to respond! I am really fussy about this & it is frustrating! :-)
ReplyDeleteIs it possible that it is the theme, that you have chosen, that causes your fussy problem.
DeleteThanks Horst, certainly an avenue to consider!
DeleteLos primeros brotes empiezan a asomar,, y dentro de poco el jardín estará en todo su esplendor.... Un abrazo Horst
