Made Something Today

This evening I made a nice loaf of  Rye Bread so that I can have toast in the morning, Next time I am going to try making Sourdough Rye Bread. Will see what that tastes like. The Rye Bread I made today is very tasty and I added a couple of table spoons of Flax seed. Flax seed is very good for me, has lots of health properties.  One can also buy milled flax flour.  I love to taste freshly baked bread, so I cut of the end of the bread and buttered it and had the great taste of fresh Rye Bread. Here is a photo of the bread that I baked this evening.

                   Mmmmm mmmm good.

  1. Horst I like freshly baked breads in the house. My wife used to use the bread maker regularly and I guess there's nothing wrong with me using the bread maker. I lived in isolated communities in th Arctic. Of course I couldn't buy bread from a store so baked bread for five years.

    1. Keith, it is good, I have made it many times before. It is great just out of the oven, or the bread maker. It is even better toasted. Tomorrow I will make a different type of bread.

  4. Horst I am very impressed, I am never successful with Rye bread. The best I have ever tasted was in S. Africa, we had a lot of German shops there and their bread was out of this world. Think that they have spoilt me for any other Rye bread!! Diane

    1. Wow, you can read and write German as well, fantastic. I can read German, and speak German, but writing it is much harder as I have only gone to English school.

    1. Your welcome Andrew, do you have any other talents besides what you do at work, other than your photography? I have always had many hobbies, Woodworking, Archery, Computers, repairing Computers, troubleshooting Computers, Household repairs, and I'm sure there are more but can't think of them right now.

  11. Very tasty looking Horst. I used to make bread but being younger then and less health wise I would usually make up a white bread with cinnamon and lots of raisons. Tasted wonderful when toasted and slathered with butter... ok, now I'm hungry, time for yogurt and granola....geez. ;)

  14. Horst also bake homemade bread. The shape of the bread is known to me. Rye bread is the most healthy. Can I eat it alone with a little salt. It is quite natural. Store-bought bread contains raising agents. You do not do me well. Have a nice weekend, Horst! / Peter.
